Teaching
I have submitted my habilitation to the University of Basel in the autumn semester 2013 and it is currently
being evaluated. The process is supported by Prof. Marcel Tanner (Director of Swiss TPH) and Prof. Nino
Künzli (Head of the Department Epidemiology and Public Health, Swiss TPH). I teach since 2008 18 lecture
hours in the Masters’ in Epidemiology and 20 in the Bachelor ‘Blockkurs’ Infection Biology and Epidemiology
of the University of Basel. I also have since 2008 a 4 hours course on livestock keeping in the tropics in the
‘Allgemeiner Tropenkurs’ of Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). Since more recently, I
have four 2-hours lectures at the Vetsuisse faculty. In the framework of research programs, I am responsible
for different courses in epidemiology.
Student Supervision
I was the main supervisor of 7 MSc theses (1 ETH Zurich and 6 University of Basel), of two accomplished PhD
studies and am of three ongoing PhD studies.
