SENIOR MOMENT WITH CAITLIN MORAN
When did you start riding?
I began riding when I was six. My mom and I began taking
lessons together every week, and then when I was ten we
started showing together.
What is your favorite horse you’ve ever ridden?
My favorite horse is Winston, who I have owned and
ridden for the past eight years. At this point we know each
other pretty well, so he is always easy to ride and show.
He is probably also the roughest gaited horse I have ever
ridden, but his heart makes up for it.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I recently applied to medical school, and hopefully will
begin next August. I have not decided what specialty I want
to go into yet, but I am currently leaning toward radiology.
What is your guilty pleasure, something you are
embarrassed to say you like?
I have a recently found an obsession with the NPR TED
Talk Radio Hour, thanks to my fellow teammate Melena
(Smith).
What is one thing you never expected from Auburn
before you got here?
I never expected to like the team workouts, and they were
definitely a struggle freshman year, but over the years I have
learned to love working out early in the morning with my
teammates.
If you could play any other sport at Auburn, what would you play and why?
If I could play another sport at Auburn, I would probably join the cross country team. I’m pretty sure it’s the only
sport that doesn’t require hand-eye coordination.
What does `War Eagle’ mean to you?
For me, War Eagle means family.
What is one thing people don’t know about you?
I love to read mystery novels in my free time.

SENIOR MOMENT WITH JENNIFER DELMAN
Being a North Carolina native, what made you choose
to come to Auburn?
I came down to Auburn for the team. Before I started my
college search, I don’t think I even knew where Auburn
was on a map. I came for a summer camp when I was in
high school and fell in love with the campus and family
atmosphere. When I was recruited my parents were not
thrilled because it was so far away but when they came
down for the recruit visit they also loved Auburn. It is
definitely worth the seven-hour drive.
What are your plans for riding after you graduate?
I will probably take a few years off to establish myself
career wise. That’s at least my plan. However, this summer
when I went home and wasn’t planning on riding I got in
touch with a local barn and ended up riding almost every
day so we’ll see how long the break after college actually
lasts.
What are your goals for the rest of the season?
I would love to win another National Championship
before I graduate. Our team has been working together and
doing so well this year I feel like it is a definite possibility.
Also, while I’ve been on the team we have never won a SEC
championship so I would love to win that as well.
Who has the biggest influence on your riding?
Definitely my trainer Lynn Forgione from high school. Due
to some personal reasons I almost quit riding in 7th grade
but my mom took my horse to Lynn’s barn and said I could ride however much I wanted but she wasn’t selling her.
Lynn turned my life around and made me the rider I am today. She not only brought my riding back to life but she is
like a second mother to me.
Is there anything interesting about yourself that people might not know at first?
I love to workout. Over the past two years I have dedicated a large amount of time to my heath and fitness. I
workout almost every day, sometimes twice a day, and try to eat very healthy. I believe that your body is a reflection of
what you create.
How did you get into riding?
My mother got me into the sport when I was five. Since she used to ride as well she figured if she had to take me to
practices all the time it might as well be for a sport that she enjoyed watching. I’ve been hooked ever since.
What is your proudest accomplishment as a rider?
Before collegiate riding my proudest accomplishment was winning the Virginia Hunt Seat Medal Finals. During my
collegiate career my proudest moments are my Honorable Mention All-American award freshman year and my AllSEC award sophomore year.
What do you want to do after graduating?
I have applied for Physical Therapy school, which is a three-year program.
What is your favorite part about riding?
Riding always puts me in a better mood. Even if I’m having a bad day, seeing my practice horse look up at me in the
paddock and put its ears forward or do something cute when I’m tacking it up always puts a smile on my face.
