Jointly organized by the Department of Physics, University of Naples “Federico II” and the INAF – Capodimonte Astronomical Observatory Conference website: hNp://udsnaples.fisica.unina.it -‐ info: [email protected] Over the last decades, digital sky surveys, performed with dedicated telescopes and wide field cameras, have revoluHonized astronomy. They have become a fundamental tool for invesHgaHng the nearby and far universe, thus providing new insights into our understanding of galaxy structure and assembly across Hme, the dark components of the universe, as well as the history of our galaxy. They also have opened the era of Hme domain astronomy leading to a new understanding of transient phenomena in the universe. The conference aims at summarizing the results from the main current and past digital sky survey projects primarily in the opHcal and NIR and at discussing how these can be used to improve ongoing projects and beNer plan future ones. Invited speakers Important deadlines 6h October: Abstract Submission 20th October: RegistraHon The Venue The conference will be held at the Observatory of Capodimonte (OAC). Founded in 1812, the OAC is located on top of a hill dominaHng the vibrant bay of Naples with a wonderful view of Vesuvius and the pearls of the gulf, Sorrento and Capri.
