Rotary is a worldwide organization of
business and professional leaders that provide humanitarian service and encourages
high ethical standards in all vocations.
The Duck Race is a major annual fund raising activity for six local Tri-Cities Rotary
Clubs. In 2014 the race will celebrate its 26th
year.
Over 400 Rotarians in the Tri-Cities will sell
40,000 duck race tickets between August 1
and October 11 of this year. The top prize is
a new vehicle (value $26,000) donated by
Toyota of Tri-Cities (2014 Toyota Camry LE).
Prizes are donated by local businesses and
given to race winners. Each prize, donor and
prize value is printed on each ticket providing donors excellent positive public visibility.
Prizes over $300 in value are guaranteed to
be listed on the ticket. All prizes can be
found listed at www.tcduckrace.org. Prizes
not on the ticket are used for promotional
purposes of the Duck Race.
Net proceeds from the race are distributed to
approximately 50 local not-for-profit charities
through the six participating Rotary clubs.
Over $2 million has been distributed since
the inception of the duck race!
