AN EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO JUNGLE LIVINN CAMPS & RETREAT
AND KUFRI (SHIMLA)
(For Classes VI to VIII)
Dear Parent,
The School proposes to send its students on an educational excursion to Jungle Livinn Camps & Retreat and Kufri
(Shimla) on 19th May, 2014.
The idea is to provide the students an opportunity to go out with their peer group and explore by themselves various
aspects of life in the areas around them, which are of great educational and historical importance.
PROGRAMME:
19th May
Leave School by 2x2 Air-conditioned coach at 05.00 hrs. for Jungle Livinn Camps & Retreat at
Chail-Kufri Road, Shimla. Breakfast and lunch on the way. Arrive at Camp by evening, registration
and brief introduction to the rules of outdoor living do’s and don’ts of camp life, tent pitching
demonstration and camp setting instructions by the tour managers.. After evening snacks enjoy in
front of a campfire with your friends. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
20th May
After breakfast, registration and issue of equipment’s. Instructions for specially developed sites for
Rock Climbing, River Crossing and Rappelling. After lunch Team Building Exercises - Tug-OfWar, Web of Life, Australian Planks and Treasure Hunt. Evening play Cricket, Volley Ball,
Badminton, Chess or enjoy an evening in front of a campfire. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
21st May
After breakfast, Obstacles - Pit Jump, Commando Crawl, Commando Net, Rope Climbing, Tarzan
Swing, Double Rope Bridge, Monkey Crawl and Burma Bridge. After lunch visit Kufri, Indira
Holiday Home and Himalayan Wild Life Zoo which hosts rare Antelopes, Felines and Birds
including Himalayan Monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. After evening snacks enjoy in front
of a campfire with your friends. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
22nd May
After breakfast, leave Camp for School by coach. Lunch and evening snacks on the way. Arrive
School by 21.30 hrs. and terminate the tour.
NOTE:
Tour expenses will include travel by 2x2 Air-conditioned coach, entrance fee, guide charges,
delicious meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Evening snacks and Dinner, services of experienced Instructors,
lodging on sharing basis in a camp with attached wash room, services of tour escorts, farewell
dinner followed by Bon-fire with music and dance, daily cold drinks and packaged drinking water
(Mineral water) throughout the journey.
EXCLUDES:
Personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls and all other expenses not specifically
mentioned above.

AN EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO JUNGLE LIVINN CAMPS & RETREAT
AND KUFRI (SHIMLA)
(For Classes VI to VIII)
Dear Parent,
The School proposes to send its students on an educational excursion to Jungle Livinn Camps & Retreat and Kufri
(Shimla) on 24th May, 2014.
The idea is to provide the students an opportunity to go out with their peer group and explore by themselves various
aspects of life in the areas around them, which are of great educational and historical importance.
PROGRAMME:
24th May
Leave School by 2x2 Air-conditioned coach at 05.15 hrs. for Jungle Livinn Camps & Retreat at
Chail-Kufri Road, Shimla. Breakfast and lunch on the way. Arrive Camp by evening and
registration and brief introduction to the rules of outdoor living. Do’s and Don’ts of camp life. Tent
pitching demonstration and camp setting. After evening snacks enjoy in front of a campfire with your
friends. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
25th May
After breakfast registration and issue of equipment’s. Instructions and specially developed sites for
Rock Climbing, River Crossing and Rappelling. After lunch Team Building Exercises - Tug-OWar, Web of Life, Australian Planks and Treasure Hunt. Evening play Cricket, Volley Ball,
Badminton, Chess or enjoy an evening in front of a campfire. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
26th May
After breakfast Obstacles - Pit Jump, Commando Crawl, Commando Net, Rope Climbing, Tarzan
Swing, Double Rope Bridge, Monkey Crawl and Burma Bridge. After lunch visit Kufri, Indira
Holiday Home and Himalayan Wild Life Zoo which hosts rare Antelopes, Felines and Birds
including Himalayan Monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. After evening snacks enjoy in front
of a campfire with your friends. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
27th May
After breakfast leave Camp for School by coach. Lunch and evening snacks on the way. Arrive
School by 21.30 hrs. and terminate the tour.
THE TRIP WILL LEAVE ON 24TH MAY, 2014 FROM THE SCHOOL AT 05.00 HRS. CHILDREN SHOULD BE AT
SCHOOL LATEST BY 04.30 HRS.

Kindly ensure the child carries a light luggage (No Suitcases) preferably rucksack with her/his nametag inside and

charge before the child leaves for trip.

CIRCULAR TO PARENTS (CLASSES VI TO VIII)
Dear Parents
Indraprastha World is an institution which centers to the overall and comprehensive development of child.
Teachers in Indraprastha are not preachers but facilitators for students.
The part of assessment in the school follows continues comprehensive evaluation strictly as per the
guidelines issued by the CBSE for assessing the scholastic and co-scholastic areas of teaching learning
process. To take care of student’s pace of learning the assessment is done at reasonable intervals to bring
continuous improvement in the performance of the students.
1. There will be two terms in classes VI-VIII, First will be from April – September and Second term from October
– March of the subsequent year. Each term will have two formative and one summative assessment.
2. For promotion to the next class students (VI-VIII) have to obtain qualifying grades (D & above) in three
compulsory subjects and three language English and Hindi being two of them.
Grades allotted in the report card will be based on nine point scale which is appended below.

Greetings of the day!
At Indraprastha World School, our students have always been our priority and we assure
you that all our efforts are directed towards ensuring this.
With reference to the unfortunate news article in all leading newspapers today, about the
sexual abuse of a nursery girl by the school cabbie, I once again appeal to all of you that
kindly make safe arrangements for commuting of ‘my’ children. Please make sure that the
vehicle in which ‘my’ ward is travelling is safe and well-maintained. Most importantly,
please verify the details of the driver before entrusting the safety and security of ‘my’
children to them.
More so, the private vans are over-loaded with students and often the van drivers are found
misbehaving with/ harassing the children. Some of the van drivers take two to three rounds
to transport the children. The last round being at odd hours, may give them the liberty to
abuse that young children. Also these waiting children waste precious time and energy. In
some cases, the van owner has further sublet the contract to an unknown person, thus,
exposing the children to a greater threat.
I take this as my responsibility to urge you to ensure the safety and security of ‘my’ children.
I will not allow any of my private van users to be subjected to any perils by leaving them at
the mercy of drivers who are only concerned about their commercial gains.
To ensure that the children are in safe hands, you are requested to submit the Police
Verification Certificate of the van driver, at the school reception, latest by Tuesday, August
19, 2014. Many accidents or incidents of harassment can be avoided by being vigilant and
taking care of trivial but important issues.
