The goal of the challenge is to help students across the country get ready for their math classes this Fall. Read on for more informaCon DETAILS ABOUT THE CHALLENGE DATES Deadline to enter: Aug 15th 2014 Challenge ends: Sep 12th 2014 Super Nova College Tutors selected and awarded: Sept 22nd 2014 RULES OF THE GAME: HOW TO GETTING CREDIT FOR COACHING •  Start coaching now, with new students on Khan Academy! –  Who: You need to coach students from the start of a mission. So your students need to have a new account on KA that they created a^er your entry date in the challenge. –  When: Everything you and your students do a^er you sign up unSl the challenge ends on Sep 12th will be counted •  Other coaches (tutors) in this compeSSon don’t count. It’s ok if you pracSce signing up yourself or other coaches in this compeSSon as your student. But the progress you and your fellow compeStors make will not be counted. •  Every tutor needs to work with their own students. If a student is signed up to more than one tutor in the compeSSon, their progress will only count for one tutor. •  For the sake of this contest, compleSng a mission will mean mastering all of the exercises included in that mission as of June 19th. SomeSmes we add new exercises to missions, but they won’t be included in the calculaSon for this contest. THE SUPER NOVA COLLEGE TUTOR SELCTION PROCESS On September 12th when the challenge ends, the top tutors will be invited into a ﬁnal selecSon round based on the number of students they have coached to 100% mastery in one of the four eligible math missions (Pre-‐Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II and Pre-‐ Calculus). Selected parScipants will be asked to submit a 2-‐3 minute video describing their experiences as a Khan Academy tutor and interviews with the students they’ve coached. The best videos will be shared on Khan and on our Facebook. Detailed instrucSons for the video and any addiSonal materials will be sent at the Sme of selecSon. DESCRIPTION OF AWARDS Master College Tutor winners receive a very diﬃcult to earn badge that is awarded to parScipants who coached 5+ students to master 1 eligible mission each Super Nova College Tutor winners receive a super elite sun level badge that will be awarded to the top 15 parScipants. These tutors will also receive a signed cerSﬁcate of their achievement by Sal Khan and will have the opportunity to become members of the Star College Tutor Advisory Board for Khan Academy Fall 2014. This advisory board will provide feedback and strategic insights to help shape the Khan Academy peer mentorship and outreach iniSaSves to college students.
