SHOWCASE CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
ShowCase 9.x client applications can be installed on these operating systems (with the latest service packs):
• Microsoft Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit) Professional or Enterprise
edition
• Microsoft Windows Vista (32- or 64-bit) Business or Ultimate
edition
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32- or 64-bit)
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or 2008R2
Other system requirements:
• x86 processor, 1.8 GHz or higher.
• At least 512 MB of RAM more than the minimum required by
your client operating system.
• 200 MB* or greater available hard disk space (space needed will
vary depending on components selected).
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or 8, or Mozilla Firefox 2.x or 3.x.
• Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 or 2010 (32-bit).
• IBM ShowCase Warehouse Manager Server requires a TCP/IP
connection to the IBM i.

ShowCase 9.x Enterprise Server can be installed in these virtualized server environments:

INSTALL SERVER SOFTWARE
1. Before you install, verify all prerequisites have been met. (see
Chapter 3 in the ShowCase Installation Guide)
2. Save your current server information with the SAVSRVRINF
command. (see the ShowCase Administrator’s Guide)
3. Log on with QSECOFR or equivalent authority (*ALLOBJ,
*IOSYSCFG, *SAVSYS, *JOBCTL, and *SECADM special
authorities are needed).
Note: The installation will fail if the installing profile’s User
Profile setting is OWNER(*GRPPRF). *GRPPRF cannot own
new objects created by the installing profile.
4. Ensure that the profile is not using a CCSID of 65535 (*Hex) by
issuing this command at the command line:
CHGJOB CCSID(37).
5. Create a Virtual Optical Drive with the following steps:
a. CRTDEVOPT DEVD(SCOPT) RSRCNAME(*VRT)
TEXT(‘ShowCase Optical Drive’)
b. VRYCFG CFGOBJ(SCOPT) CFGTYPE(*DEV)
STATUS(*ON)
c. CRTIMGCLG IMGCLG(SHOWCASE) DIR(‘/SHOWCASE’)
CRTDIR(*YES)
d. Copy the ISO from your PC to the iSeries:
Extract the ShowCase_9.3.0.0_Server.iso file from
the ZIP file.
Using a mapped drive or iSeries Navigator, place the
ShowCase_9.3.0.0_Server.iso file into the SHOWCASE directory.
e. ADDIMGCLGE IMGCLG(SHOWCASE) FROMFILE
('/SHOWCASE/ShowCase_9.3.0.0_Server.iso')
TEXT('ShowCase 9.3.0.0 Installation File')
f. LODIMGCLG IMGCLG(SHOWCASE) DEV(SCOPT)
g. To verify the mounting of the Virtual Optical Drive, issue the
command DSPOPT VOL(*All) DEV(SCOPT)
6. Start the ShowCase install with the command
LODRUN DEV(SCOPT)
7. If prompted for a path name, accept the default.
8. Follow the screen instructions and use Chapter 4 of the ShowCase Installation Guide to finish installation.
9. If you will use IBM Collaboration and Deployment Services,
issue the DPLSCPKG command to install Showcase plugins. See
Chapter 4 of the ShowCase Installation Guide.
