RUBBLE-FREE REFURBISHMENT
Thanks to its slimline 3.5 mm thickness, this material can be used to replace existing wall coverings
without the need to remove the old ceramic tiles, making it the ideal choice for refurbishment projects in:

FAÇADES
Suitable for use on both ventilated and bonded façades. BUTECH offers the full range of anchoring
systems in order to guarantee the correct installation of this product.
One of the greatest advantages of XLIGHT is that it is easy to handle, allowing for the production of
special pieces that integrate with the façade material, such as inspection covers, latticework for sunlight
control and the integration of doors and windows.
MOBILE CLOSURE SYSTEMS
The lightweight nature of this product makes it ideal for use as a covering on all types of mobile closure
systems (garage and sliding doors, etc.). Details that set this product apart from other traditional ceramic
tile façade options.
FURNITURE AND CONCEALED DOORS
This material is used extensively for furniture, indoor windows and doors, table tops, etc.

A wide range of single-tone options (15 different colours) that are extremely popular among architects and

5. TOOLS AND INSTALLATION
In order to guarantee an optimum finish XLIGHT requires professional handling. In this sense, BUTECH
offers a series of special tools suitable for handling and laying XLIGHT under any conditions. Below is a
list of the special tools available from BUTECH.

Cutting guide and extender.
Diamond tip hand cutter. Ideal for making small cuts by hand.
Frame with XLIGHT suction pads for safe transportation
Abrasive sponge for to finish off cuts.
Hand suction pads for easy handling.
Joint adjuster (optional). This system ensures optimum alignment once the tiles are in place. (
XLIGHT rubber float. Used to tap the tile into place and eliminate any possible air bubbles in the
cement adhesive.
Notched trowels for applying the bonding material.
Bonding material. Cement adhesive with latex. One flex + unilax.
Grout floats.
CG2 –type grouting material.
For façade application, we also recommend using the P-404 chemical anchoring material.
Although this material is easy to handle, it does require a certain degree of care and the skill of a tile layer.

6. FACTORY PRODUCT PRESENTATION. STANDARD PALLETIZING.
As with sub-distribution pallets, the standard pallet for XLIGHT offers full legal guarantees for its correct
transportation anywhere in the world. It can hold a total of 20 XLIGHT tiles weighing a maximum of 608 kg.
7. SUB-DISTRIBUTION PRODUCT PRESENTATION. PICKING.
For distribution purposes, XLIGHT is available in full pallets measuring 3100x1100 mm. It is distributed in
two pallet options:
P01 PALLET
For shipping between 1 and 5 tiles
Weighing a maximum of 152 Kg. (5 tiles)
The ceramic tiles are sandwiched between two protective EPS sheets. Eight protective framing squares
are also included, together with a protective retractable plastic sheet.
P02 PALLET
For shipping between 6 and 19 tiles
Weighing a maximum of 578 Kg. (19 tiles)

8. PALLET HANDLING AND TRANSPORT
Correct handling is essential when storing and shipping ceramic tiles. Due to the large dimensions of this
product it is necessary to take into consideration a number of criteria, as explained in the following video:

9. - PRICES
When offering XLIGHT, it is important not only to consider the final product price, but also numerous other
factors that make this a far more competitive and efficient product:

THE LIGHTWEIGHT NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT ALLOWS FOR SAVINGS ON LABOUR
COSTS. It takes just two people to lay 3m2 in a single action.
SAVINGS IN TERMS OF WORK TIME. This is particularly true in the case of refurbishment
projects, where the use of this product allows for rubble-free work and time savings (and the
consequent reduction in costs).
NO NEED FOR SPECIAL CUTTING PROCESSES. All cutting can be carried out on site thanks
to the reduced thickness and easy handling of this product.
SAVINGS ON SHIPPING. Thanks to the lightweight nature of this product, XLIGHT pallets are far
more economical to ship than those of any other type of ceramic tile.
100 m2 of XLIGHT weighs approximately 1,000 kg.
100 m2 of URBATEK weighs approximately 2,500 kg.
Non-standard designs require a personalised estimate. In this case there are two types of estimates:
Case 1: In-store estimates.
Customers may order one or more bespoke XLIGHT 300x100 cm tiles in keeping with their design
requirements, provided that all the cuts are straight and run the entire length of the ceramic tile. If the order
complies strictly with these conditions, a supplement of 20% will be applied to the price of the most
expensive field tile.
Case 2: Factory estimates.
Customers may order one or more bespoke XLIGHT tiles featuring other types of designs (curves, die-cut,
bas-reliefs, insertions, etc). This will require a feasibility study and the estimate will be provided by the
factory.
9. - SUMMARY
XLIGHT boasts countless possibilities. This ceramic material offers superb performance based on its
outstanding size and minimum thickness. It’s up to all of us to be able to get this message across to our
