Quick Reference Guide
This guide will provide you with the basic operation and functions that will enable you to quickly understand how to use
your Digital Pen. For more detailed information about how to use the pen please refer to the User Manual.

2. PREPARATION
1) The first step is to remove the Pen Shell and plug the pen into your USB port so that the battery can be fully charged.
This will take approximately one hour.
2) When charging the pen the power switch should be set to "on".
3) When the pen is fully charged shut it “off”, remove it from the USB port and replace the pen shell.
4) Plug the pen into your PC USB port to download MP3 files.

3. Operation
1) Turn the power switch to the “on” position and wait 3-5 seconds for the pen to initialize. Once the initialization is
complete the pen will default to Music mode and the LCD will display “MP3 Music”.
2) Insert the earphones into the earphones jack.
3) While in the “MP3 Music” mode you can:
a. Press the (P) key to start or pause the music player.
b. Press the (V) key to display the volume level on the LCD then press the (+) or (-) keys to adjust the volume.
c. A quick press of the (M) key will save the volume setting and bring you back to where you were before you
pressed the (V) key.
4) A long hold on the (M) key will take you out of the “MP3 Music” mode and back to the list of available modes.
5) You can use the (+) or (-) keys to change the mode from Music to Record, Voice, Radio or Settings. When you see the
mode you want hit the (M) key briefly to select that mode.
6) When you are in a mode, pressing the (+) key allows you to change selection within that mode. For example, in
“MP3 Music” mode the (+) key moves you to the next song and in "Radio" mode the (+) key moves you to the next
station.
7) An additional function of each key is how long you hold it down. A long hold is typically used when you want to
switch what you are doing, and a short hold is typically used to confirm your selection.
8) To perform a quick record, press the (V) key and hold for about 3 seconds. The LCD will display “initialization…” and
the pen will begin recording. When you are done recording press and hold the (M) key for about 3 seconds to save
the recording.
9) To playback the recording select “Tape” mode then press the (P) key to playback the recording. You can also save
the file to your PC (by inserting the pen into the PC USB port) and then use your media player to playback the
recording.
10) To listen to the radio select the “Radio” mode then press the (+) or (-) keys to find a local FM station.
11) To adjust system settings, select the “System Settings” mode to configure settings such as; system time, backlight
level, and language.
12) The pen’s memory size is 8GB and can store approximately 1800 – 2000 MP3’s or you can use the pen as a
removable storage device and store data files by removing the Pen Shell and inserting the pen into the PC USB port.
13) To use the pen for writing, rotate the Pen Cap to expose the ink tip.
14) To turn the pen OFF or ON you can use the power switch or you can press and hold the (P) key.
4. Protecting your Pen
This device contains components which can be damaged if the pen is dropped, immersed in water or is not handled with
care. Please make every effort to protect your device from abuse and in return you will be rewarded with many years of
trouble-free operation.
