Milton Ulladulla Comedy Festival
115 days in the making, ULLADULLiRiOUS was created by an Adult Ed
student group to help address the town’s off peak tourism season. This
festival has proven to be a tremendous success, with 1000 people registering
attendance, 27 community members achieving an accredited qualification,
an indirect spend of just over $1million and the creation of a number of
jobs. Importantly, the students were taught how to build a really strong

GRANITE TOWN
Moruya’s Jazz, Food & Funk Festival
Adult Ed were very proud to be a part of the development process for the
newly created Granite Town Festival held in October 2014. The festival
highlighted the incredible talent of our local musicians as well as the
gastronomic versatility that can now be found on the South Coast. Moruya
put on an unforgettable weekend of great music and delicious food,
giving visitors the opportunity to see first-hand the beautiful region that we
call home. Adult Ed were delighted to be able to support the organising
committee and we look forward to the 2015 Granite Town Festival.
SOCIAL INCLUSION WEEK
Adult Ed & Workability held a special celebration day for Social Inclusion

with art, cooking and computer workshops, tai chi sessions and even a

FESTIVAL OF THE FACE - BEGA
In the lead up to the Festival of the Face, Adult Ed’s students attended
the Pathways to Careers Program completing a Cert IV in Business Admin
and a Bridging Program with the University of Wollongong, Bega. Students
worked with the Bega Chamber of Commerce on a project to engage
youth in the Festival through a ‘Selfies Competition”. Students applied their
studies in the real world by developing business plans, presenting ideas
to the festival committee, liaising with local business owners, developing
contracts, coordinating business resources and managing a budget.
Pathways to Careers Program students have now gone on to degree
programs at University of Wollongong in Business, Marketing and Nursing.
ART DREAMING AT ADULT ED
Local indigenous stories of growing up have been captured through art and
storytelling in a full-colour book ‘Drawing from the Past’. The book is part of
an innovative series of publications that encourage local indigenous people
to record their history while gaining important skills, which resulted in the
awarding of a Certificate II in Business.
The book records the experience of not just participants but the wider
indigenous community as each participant was required to interview
another person. The highly personal stories tell the human experience of
growing up on the South Coast.

‘Food’ used to be straightforward – after this workshop, it will be NEW!
