What is MEDECO?

MEDECO is the Medical Devices Committee of EDANA, the international association
serving the nonwovens and related industries.
MEDECO is a committee, consisting of member companies of EDANA, which either
manufacture single-use nonwovens medical devices or produce the materials to
manufacture them. The converted products represented are principally single-use
nonwoven surgical drapes, gowns and apparel and wound care products.

Vision

For the nonwovens industry to be the supplier of choice for surgical drapes, gowns &
wearing apparel and wound management products.
Mission

To promote, through EDANA, the benefits of single-use nonwovens products to
decision makers, influencers and end-users in Surgery, Wound Management and Infection
Control.

To position EDANA as the leading independent authority and reference for nonwovens
and to promote high levels of product safety and quality in accordance with established
quality standards.
Objectives

Identify and monitor regulatory and political developments relevant to our products and
industry

Participate in policy-development in Europe

Provide non-competitive information about our industry

Maintain contacts with relevant European and national authorities and institutions

Promote greater public awareness about our products, their uses and benefits

DRAFT: Encourage member companies to adopt sustainable practices and pro-actively
communicate on improvements and socio economic benefits of their products
Who should attend?

Any EDANA member that is a converter of single-use nonwoven medical devices or that
is a supplier to the industry.

members, ensure that EDANA provides a service that responds to members’ needs. Each
