Tuition fees vary by class and are due at the time of
registration. Fees are payable by cash, cashier’s check,
or money order only. NO DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS OR
PERSONAL CHECKS. Tuition fees are non-refundable.
Classes are for adults 18 years of age and older.
Children are not allowed at registration or in class.
Please allow approximately two hours for registration.

GED® PREP CLASS LOCATIONS
THE GED® TEST

As of January 2014, the GED® Test delivery changed
from a paper-based test to a computer-based test. The
program is designed for individuals who once were
enrolled in school but, for various reasons, did not
complete the requirements for high school graduation.
The test is a battery of four comprehensive
examinations.

GED PREPARATION
®
Adult Basic Education (ABE)/Pre-GED® instruction is
for individuals 18 years of age and over whose basic
reading, math, and/or writing skills are below the ninth
grade level of achievement. GED® Preparation Classes
are for individuals 18 years of age and over with reading,
math, and/or writing skills at the ninth grade level or
above, interested in taking this high school equivalency
exam.
D ISTANCE E DUCATION
In addition to classroom instruction, GED® Distance
Education is offered. Students study from a computer
with Internet access while a teacher provides
individualized instruction.
Distance Education information sessions will be held at
the Prince William County Public Schools Adult Learning
Center (Independent Hill Complex, Building #4),14800
