2. Product description
2.1.
Functional description of the product
The eDM-CB-Colibri is a carrier board for industrial applications. It will be used with an embedded
Computer-On-Module according to Toradex Colibri definition.
It is designed to fit the Colibri T20, Colibri T30, Colibri VF61, Colibri VF50 module from Toradex that
includes a single-, dual- or quad core processor based on the ARM® Cortex™-A9 and Cortex-A5
architecture.
Optionally it can be used with any other Colibri™ module, such as the Colibri PXA Family.

(6 Layer PCB : 1.6mm Thickness FR4 Material).

X200 allows connection of the external battery supply, as well as providing V_SUPPLY_FILT to
external world.
VBAT is a power pin which denotes positive connection of external battery. Board has a circuit which
enables powering from external battery in case of a failure of the main power supply.

5.4.
Remarks

Booting options for modules VF50/VF61:

Resistors R200, R201, R202, R203, R210, R211 are to be mounted if boot from SD-Card is
wanted.
I2C/CAN0 switch:
In order to have both CAN active for Vybrid modules (VF50/VF60) user must embed a SW
switch between I2C and CAN0 signals. IC U5 is a switch that can be controlled in order to
switch between signals CAN0_TX->I2C_SDA and CAN0_RX-> I2C_SCL. With T20 and T30
Colibri modules there is no option for second CAN interface. The table shows possibilities for
U5 switch control. Signal I2C/CAN0_CTRL is EN#.

5.10. Quality
Design and producing processes of the board are aligned with the guideline according to the DIN ISO
9001 certification. MIL-STD-105E single sampling plans for normal inspection, Level II. AQL 0.65% for
function test; AQL 1.00% for cosmetic. Workmanship standard: IPC-A-610D Class2

5.11. Environmentalism
The list of used materials is still under preparation based on the parts list.
The PCB is produced under lead free soldering conditions.
All components are produced according to European RoHS (RoHS-1 = 2002/95/EU, RoHS-2 =
2011/65/EU) and REACh (2006/1907/EU) regulations. The board is designed and manufactured to
meet ISO 14001.
The packing complies to directive 1994/62/EU.
