Overview
El litoral de Mazarrón, al abrigo de sus 300 días de sol al año, ofrece una
temperatura media de 20ºC.
Geográficamente se sitúa dentro del Arco Mediterráneo, concretamente
en la Bahía de Mazarrón, comprendida entre Cabo Cope y Cabo Tiñoso. El
encanto de este pueblo reside en sus variadas y numerosas playas. Con 35
kilómetros de costa, de los cuales 10 km son calas vírgenes de una gran
belleza paisajística y no solo por los parajes en los que se enmarcan, sino
también por sus asombrosos fondos marinos.

The Mazarrón coastline, with its 300 days of sunshine a year, offers an
average temperature of 20°C.
Mazarrón is located in the Mediterranean Basin, particularly in the Bay
of Mazarrón, between Cape Cope and Cape Tiñoso. The charm of this town
lies in its varied and numerous beaches, with no less than 35 kilometers of
coastline for your enjoyment, of which 10 km are coves of great beauty, and
not just for their landscape, but also for their amazing seabed.
Thanks to its beaches, Mazarrón is one of the main tourist destinations
in the Region of Murcia, reaching more than 130,000 inhabitants in the
summer.

En la Bahía de Mazarrón podemos realizar una gran variedad de actividades lúdicas.
Playas: 35 km de costa ofrecen una gran variedad de
playas urbanas, de recónditas calas o aquellas situadas junto
a espléndidos paseos marítimos, que podrá disfrutar durante
todo el año. Mazarrón dispone de un total de 11 playas que
trabajan en la Certificación de la Q de Calidad y otras 5 dentro
del Programa Banderas Azules, lo que demuestra la calidad
de sus aguas y la excelencia de los servicios que ofrecen.
Historia: fruto de su historia, de la superposición de culturas, y de su situación en el Mediterráneo, Mazarrón alberga
en su patrimonio un sinfín de testimonios del pasado. Cuenta
con un total de cuatro espacios museísticos: El Museo Arqueológico, el Centro de Interpretación del Barco Fenicio, el
Centro de Interpretación de la Torre de los Caballos y Las
Casas Consistoriales; además de otros 20 enclaves arqueológicos o patrimoniales. Especial relevancia adquieren los
restos de los Barcos Fenicios Mazarrón 1 y 2, encontrados en
la Playa de La Isla.
Deportes náuticos: Mazarrón es el lugar idóneo para la
práctica de deportes náuticos como la vela, el surf, la pesca
y especialmente el submarinismo que, gracias a la variedad y
riqueza de sus fondos marinos, unido a los más de 300 días
de sol al año y a las muy buenas temperaturas, permiten la
práctica de estos deporte en condiciones óptimas así como
la celebración de diversas pruebas y encuentros deportivos
relacionados con el mar.
Deportes en tierra: la Bahía no es solo mar y playa. Por
sus propias características, y por estar rodeada de una serie
de cadenas montañosas, hace que la práctica de otros deportes en tierra tengan una especial relevancia, y dentro de
ellos destacan el senderismo, el cicloturismo y el trekking.
El municipio cuenta con una amplia red de senderos para el
disfrute de los visitantes entre los que destacan 13 de pequeño recorrido; el GR 92 a su paso por la Región y La Vía Verde
de Mazarrón que nos une con Totana y Cartagena. Gracias a
estas grandes posibilidades de práctica deportiva se celebran
en Mazarrón diversas competiciones a lo largo de todo el año.
Tradiciones y Fiestas Populares: de importante relevancia son las fiestas y tradiciones populares, se celebran dieciocho eventos tanto en los núcleos principales como en las
pedanías, entre las que destacan la Fiesta de La Purísima en
diciembre en honor a La Patrona, La Romería del Milagro, La
Fiesta del Rebuzno, etc.
Por último destacar la amplia variedad de servicios que
se brinda a los visitantes desde el punto de vista público y
privado, como son las ofertas de alojamiento, actividades y
gastronomía.

A wide range of recreational activities can be performed
in the Bay of Mazarrón.
Beaches: our 35 km of coastline offer a variety of beaches, ranging from the ones within urban spaces to secluded coves, but also those with splendid promenades that
can be enjoyed throughout the year. Mazarrón has a total
of eleven beaches which have been granted the Q mark for
Spanish Tourist Quality, plus another five with the Blue Flag
Programme eco-label, which demonstrates the quality of its
waters and the excellence of the services being offered.
History: as a result of its history of overlapping cultures
and its situation in the Mediterranean, Mazarrón retains innumerable vestiges of the past. It features four exhibition
spaces: The Archaeological Museum, the Phoenician Ship
Visitor Centre, Tower of horses visitor centre and The Town
Hall, plus 20 other sites of archeological or cultural interest. Of special relevance are the wrecks of two Phoenician
boats, which were given the name of Mazarrón I and Mazarrón II.
Water Sports: Mazarrón is the ideal place for the practice of water sports like sailing, surfing, fishing and diving –
especially the latter, thanks to the variety and richness of its
seabed-. This, coupled with over 300 days of sunshine and
warm temperatures a year, allows practising these sports in
optimal conditions as well as hosting various sport events
related to the sea and sailing.
Land based sports: the Bay is not just sea and sand.
By its very nature, and being surrounded by a series of
mountain belts, the practice of land based sports, such ashiking, cycling and trekking, acquires a special relevance.
The municipality has an extensive network of trails for the
enjoyment of visitors, among which the most noteworthy
are: the GR 92 as it passes through the region, the Vía Verde
(greenway) of Mazarrón, which connects it to Totana and
Cartagena, and thirteen other smaller tours. Thanks to these
great sport possibilities, various competitions are held in
Mazarrón throughout the year.
Traditions and Festivities: of major importance are our
holidays and traditions. Eighteen events are held both in
the main centers and in the districts, among which are the
Fiesta de la Purísima (Feast of the Immaculate Conception),
celebrated in December in honor of our patron saint, the
Romería del Milagro (Pilgrimage of the Miracle), La Fiesta
del Rebuzno (Feast of the Bray), etc.
