FONTANA, CALIFORNIA (January 27, 2015) – The Los Angeles Karting Championship is among
the largest and most successful programs in the United States. Based at the CalSpeed Karting
Center that is just outside turn four at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, the LAKC
welcomes hundreds of drivers once a month for events held from February to October; races that
feature the best drivers from the Los Angeles area and other surrounding states. One of the
biggest announcements regarding the upcoming 2015 season is the over $40,000 in cash, prizes

“We have received tremendous support from the industry for our 2015 program,” stated LAKC
President Chris LaTorre. “Our working relationships with Superkarts! USA, PRD-USA, Vega Tires
and MG Tires have added to our prize package for this year, along with the new program that we
have with IAME USA West. The 2014 season was among one of our best seasons for LAKC, and
I see no reason why 2015 cannot be even better with the number of teams, drivers and families
looking to get the season started this coming February.”
The new TaG Cadet Mini Swift category in 2015 will offer one lucky competitor the opportunity to
race at the SKUSA SuperNationals XIX. The LAKC championship-winning driver will receive a
complete complimentary entry package to the Las Vegas event, courtesy of Superkarts! USA,
and they will also receive a Guaranteed SuperSunday Starting Spot in the TaG Cadet division.
The entire prize package can be considered priceless with the opportunity to race the entire event
already locked heading into SuperSunday.
Three groups of classes are taking part in the 2015 LAKC ‘Instant Cash’ awards program. Group
1 (PRD Junior 1, PRD Junior 2, PRD Senior, PRD Master) will each receive the opportunity to
race for cash at two separate events in 2015, with $150 going to the winner, paying down to
fourth place at $75. The G1 Open Shifter category will race for a $225 purse at each LAKC event,
with the winner receiving $150. Group 3 (PRD Senior Pilot, Jr-1 Comer, Jr-1 Comer Pilot) have
three events on the season to contend for a three-position cash purse, with $150 going to the
winner, In total, over $8,000 is available in the LAKC Instant Cash awards program.

for the 2015 LAKC Prize award program. Twenty-four sets of Vega FH tires will be given away at
random during the drivers meeting throughout the year - available to the PRD and Jr-1 Comer
competitors. Eighteen sets of MG Tires will be handed out to those in the Superkarts! USA
categories. At the end of the year, each shifterkart class champion will have their name entered
into a drawing for one free race entry to the SKUSA SuperNationals in 2015 (does not include
tires/fuel and other assorted costs). Each champion in the PRD, Comer and Honda Kid Kart
divisions will receive a free entry to the 2016 Pan Am Crown of Karting.
A total of three engines are in the prize package for 2015. A new IAME X-30 will be given away at
random during the October LAKC event to a racer who has completed seven of nine races in the
TaG Senior or TaG Master categories. Two PRD engines are up for raffle as well. Any PRD racer

drawing, with those who compete at the final four LAKC races of the year going toward the
second drawing.
