The Feast of the Encounter of our Lord and Simeoon will be celebrated this coming
Monday 2 Feb., at 9:00am. This is a Solemn Holy Day honoring our Lord and our Lady We
pray that the Light of Christ will increase in us in this New Year.
The Solemn Blessing of Candles will be observed on this Feast. Blessed Candles will be
available following the Services. If the weather is bad, the Liturgy will be in the Chapel.
The First All Souls Saturday of the year will be observed next Sat., 7 February. Please PRINT the
names of the Persons, you wish to be remembered, on the All Souls Envelope provided in your
envelope box.
The Easter Nut Rolls Bake Sale will be held on Mar., 15-16-17. Please mark your calendars and try
to set some time aside to volunteer to help with the baking. The Easter Paskas will be baked on
Mae., 30-31-1 April the Mon-Tues- Wed., of Holy Week, Orders Blanks go out on 14 Feb.
St. John’s Guild made a Special Donation of $5,000 to the church. May the Lord bless and reward
the Guild Members for their support for our Parish.
Pre Lenten Covered Dish and Forgiveness Vespers will be held on Sunday 15 February. Please
sign up and indicate the number of persons and which covered dish you will bring.
Lenten Vespers will be held on Sun.,1 March at Coatesville, 8 March here in Pottstown, 15 Mar.,
Mont Clare, 22 Mar SS Peter & Paul Uk., Cath., Church, Phoenixville. All Vespers will be at
3:00pm.
Adult Bible Study Anyone interested in participating in an adult Bible Study is asked to sign up.
Bible Study will be held on Sundays following the 8:00am Liturgy.
St. John’s Choir will meet this coming week depending on the weather.
A Bus Trip to Hollywood in Harrisburg will take place on Wednesday 11 February 2015 departing
at 8:30am. Tickets are $20; $30 back; $5 Food Voucher. The bus is full, but you can be placed on
the waiting list in case of a cancellation . Contact Ann Mehallick.
End of the Year Financial Statements for Church Contributions will be prepared for all who
request them.. Please sign up on the list provided in the church vestibule.. Statements will be mailed
to you.
Poinsettias that adorned the church for Christmas need a good home. They are available for adoption
in the school hall.
Prayers are Needed for Paul Kochu who is missing in Pittsburgh and needs all of the help we can
give him with our prayers.
