Percussion (WGI PIW) for two years beginning when he was
just 15 years old. Played bass drums and tenors. Was a WGI
Independent World Class Finalist.
Ø Traveled to 35 foreign countries and picked up many
different drumming techniques and styles.
Ø Hosted percussion clinic in Chiang Mai, Thailand for
children of all ages

PRESS BIO:
Ø Jared has many years of experience as an educator, director,
consultant, adjudicator, clinician, and arranger with over 20
highly successful marching percussion programs in the
United States & Canada which are actively involved in
competitive circuits such as BOA, WGI, DCI, and DCA. He
is an endorsed Sabian artist and is also endorsed by Vic Firth
sticks and mallets and is a member of the Vic Firth education
team as a marching percussion specialist. Many of Jared’s
works are published and have been commissioned by clients
as prestigious as the Royal Canadian Military. Additionally,
he also has many years of world class marching percussion
experience as a performer and also as an international
percussion clinician. Jared currently resides in Grandville,
Michigan, where he is the Executive Director/Manager of the
Grand Rapids Griffins Pro-Hockey Drumline as well as
Director of Percussion & Music/Drill writer at Byron Center
HS, Grand Rapids Christian HS, and the West Michigan
Homeschool Fine Arts. Jared is also an instructor at the WGI
PIO Finalist group Genesis Percussion as well as Grand
Valley State University and is also an active percussion judge
for the Michigan Scholastic Marching Band Circuit,
Drumline Ontario, and the World Championship Marching
Show Band Circuit.
