Abstract. Six decapod crustaceans [Albunea occulta
Boyko, 2002, Al. okinawaensis Osawa & Fujita,
2007 (Albuneidae); Ranina ranina (Linnaeus, 1758)
(Raninidae); Calappa hepatica (Linnaeus, 1758)
(Calappidae); Ashtoret lunaris (Forskål, 1775), and
As. picta (Hess, 1865) (Matutidae)] were collected
from the shallow sandy subtidal zone (2–3 m depth)
at Yonaha-Maehama Beach of Miyako-jima Island,
Ryukyu Islands, southwestern Japan. Three of these
species, Al. occulta, Al. okinawaensis, and As. picta,
are recorded for the first time from Miyako-jima
Island.
