Monica Risenius Chief Operating Officer Monica’s long-standing career in the wellness and hospitality industry includes extensive hands-on experience in spa management. Starting her career as a Chemistry Engineer, the calling to work with people led her to further her studies in Chinese medicine and Management, and guided her into the wellness industry. Monica’s drive for constant personal and professional growth saw her take on challenging projects for health clubs, hotels and spas. She has opened and managed spas in some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts, such as the Taj Exotica Mauritius; The Four Seasons Hotel Doha; One&Only Spa, Le Saint Geran, Mauritius; Auriga Spa, Capella Hotel, Singapore; Atlantis The Palm, Dubai; Raison d’Etre Spa at the Grand Hotel Stockholm. In 2004 Monica joined Raison d’Etre to become Director of Operations and Training before taking on the Managing Director role in 2009. In 2010, Monica was appointed COO of Resense Spa SA, in charge of all the operations. Her main focus is the implementation and set up of Resense Spa SA concepts in the preopening phase and the successful management of the spas in close co-operation with her team of Operation Managers and Training Managers. Monica is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. A Swedish citizen, Monica is married, with two children, and is fluent in English in addition to being Swedish mother tongue.
