This disc brings together some of the loudest, most exciting music ever written. Brace
yourself! Hide the children! Warn the neighbors! Evacuate low-lying areas and coastal cities!
EARQUAKE has finally arrived, and neither music, nor you hearing, will ever be the same!
We’ve assembled on one CD, for the first time ever, the wildest, most dynamic music that we
could find. If you’ve been looking for an explosive collection of great tunes, driving rhythms,
and sonic thrills (not to mention one very serious musical volcano) you’ll find what you’ve
been searching for here. The music has been arranged for continuous listening. With that in
mind, we have programmed three quiet “valleys” to provide contrast with the very loud music
that follows them. These are “Prism”, “Nostalgic Thoughts” and “Angel of Light”. If your aural
threshold of pain is really high, you can skip these three calmer tracks; otherwise you may find,
as we have, that the contrast actually adds to the excitement.
We believe that the final track “Hekla”, is probably the loudest single piece of music ever
written. It describes, in very graphic terms, the eruption of Hekla, Iceland’s largest active
volcano. The 140 piece orchestra (which insisted on wearing earplugs for the recording
sessions) includes parts for organ, chorus, and a 22-person percussion section sporting
– among other hardware – four sets of rocks hit with hammers, two heavy metal chains,
anvils, steel plates, sirens, and several dozen cannon shots. DO NOT adjust the volume to
comfortable listening levels. If your speakers (and your hearing) aren’t in jeopardy, it just isn’t
an EARQUAKE experience!

Für diese einzigartige Produktion hat ein Team von Spezialisten die wohl wildeste und
exzessivste Musik ausgesucht, die es auf der gesamten Musikszene gibt. Niemand, der
explosiven Rhythmus und erregende Melodien liebt und einen ungewöhnlichen musikalischen
Thrill erleben möchte, kann darauf verzichten. Wir haben die CD so zusammengestellt, daß sie
gut auf einmal gehört werden kann. Um den Adrenalinspiegel nicht ständig am Anschlag zu

haben, stehen drei ruhige Stücke als Kontrast auf dem Programm. Es sind “Prism”, “Nostalgic
Thoughts” und “Angel of Light”. Wenn Ihre Schmerzgrenze sehr hoch ist, können Sie die
natürlich überspringen, aber mit ihnen macht das Hören definitiv mehr Spaß.
Das Schlußstück, “Hekla”, ist vielleicht das lauteste Stück Musik, das je komponiert wurde.
Es faßt unmißverständlich den Ausbruch von Islands größtem aktiven Vulkan Hekla in
Töne. Das 140-Mann-Orchester bestand darauf, während der Aufnahmen Ohrenschützer zu
tragen. Immerhin kommen Kanonenschüsse, ein Chor und eine 22 Mann starke PercussionAbteilung zum Einsatz. Es werden Stein gehämmert, Schwermetallketten geschmiedet,
Ambosse traktiert, Stahlplatten und Sirenen zum Klingen gebracht. Um das Maximum aus
dieser Produktion zu holen, sollten Sie beim Hören die Lautstärke nicht nachregulieren. Nur
wenn Lautsprecher und Ohren aufs äußerste belastet werden, ist das ganz neue Hörerlebnis
garantiert. EARQUAKE – eine musikalische Explosion für Ihre Sinne.
