Institutions: Cornell University, Harvard University, Humboldt-­‐Universität Berlin, Johns Hopkins University, Princeton University und University of California/Berkeley, Max-­‐Planck-­‐Institut f. Wissenschaftsgeschichte and Zentrum für Literatur-­‐ und Kulturforschung, Berlin. Structure: Coordinated by the Humboldt-­‐Universität Berlin, the multilateral network aims to establish close cooperations on both a professional and thematic level with the American partner institutions of literary and cultural studies, the history of science, art history, and media studies. Strategy: The framework of the interdisciplinary project is made up of a joint research program examining constellations of literature, knowledge, and media. Focussing strongly on the internationalization of teaching and the support of young scientists, the thematic network is part of the International Agenda of Humboldt-­‐Universität Berlin. Project Aims: -­‐ Enhancement of the existing exchange programs and individual research cooperations in a stable, non-­‐personal, and multilateral structure with a distinguishable thematic accentuation; -­‐ Sustained increase in mobility, international network-­‐ and profile-­‐
building at graduate, doctoral, and post-­‐doc levels, as well as for experienced academics; -­‐ Long-­‐term internationalization of teaching in the participating departments of the Humboldt-­‐Universität; -­‐ Systematic involvement of neighboring disciplines in the partner universities, especially science and media studies, and the history of art. Measures: The research cooperation involves regular events, workshops, conferences, and a joint summer school dealing with our annual key topics. In addition, a range of exchange programs and mobility schemes allows for a constant exchange of scholars at all levels in the participating institutions and disciplines: JUNIOR RESEARCH STAYS (3-­‐5 month); SENIOR RESEARCH-­‐AND TEACHING STAYS (1-­‐
