Wir sind VISUM, die Studenteninitiative
für Austauschstudenten
und Austauschstudentinnen

1.With the VPN-Client:
In order to use the VPN-Client you have
to be enrolled at the university because
you need the uni-login.

at the central library in the Schloss
(they can also install the program for
you).

Verschiedene Banken bieten kostenlose
Girokonten an, die eine EC-Karte (Electronic Cash-Karte) und Online-Banking
beinhalten.
Wir haben die Erfahrung gemacht, dass
eine Kontoeröffnung bei der Deutschen
Bank in O7 (Planken) relativ unproblematisch ist.
Denkt daran, folgende Unterlagen zur
Kontoeröffnung mitzubringen: Studentenausweis (ecUM), Reisepass und Mietvertrag! Mit der EC-Karte könnt Ihr an
Deutsche Bank Automaten Geld abheben und Euren Kontostand abfragen und
ausdrucken. Da die Deutsche Bank zur
„Cash Group“ gehört, könnt Ihr auch bei
allen folgenden Banken kostenlos Geld
abheben: Commerzbank, Postbank, Norrisbank und Hypo Vereinsbank.
Über VISUM bekommt Ihr einen Termin
zur Kontoeröffnung bei der Deutschen
Bank. Fragt uns am besten während Euren ersten Tagen nach der Ankunft!
We recommend the Deutsche Bank in
O7 (Planken) as the staff is friendly and
previous exchange students had the
least problems when opening an account
there. Do not forget to bring your student
ID Card (ecUM), passport, and apartment
rental contract with you!
You can use the EC-Card to withdraw
money at Deutsche Bank ATMs and to
check and print your account balance.
As the Deutsche Bank is a member of
the “Cash Group” you can also withdraw money without paying fees at ATMs
from the following banks: Commerzbank,
Postbank, Norrisbank and Hypo Vereinsbank.
VISUM can make an appointment with
the Deutsche Bank for you to open up
your account. Ask us during one of your
first days after your arrival!
Note: Please don´t forget to close
your bank account at the end of your
stay in Mannheim.

Immatrikulation am Express-Service in L1, 1

Falls das Zimmer über das AAA gebucht worden ist, sollte dein Buddy vor der Immatrikulation ein deutsches Bankkonto eröffnen. Hierzu
benötigt er den Zulassungsbescheid sowie
entweder den Mietvertrag oder die Anmeldebestätigung vom Einwohnermeldeamt (s.
Punkt 3). Danach kann er am Express-Service
die Einzugsermächtigung unterschreiben und
sich immatrikulieren.
If you booked your accommodation through
the International Office, open a bank account
before the enrollment.
For that you will need the Letter of admission, as well as either the rental contract or
the resident permit at the registration office
(s. Nr. 3).
Afterwards fill out the debit authorization at
the International Office and get enrolled.

The next furniture store is mömax, right
in the city centre. Just walk from Uni
(Schloss) towards Paradeplatz and then
onwards until you see the white-green
building.

Getting there:
Go to Paradeplatz and wait at the trainstop which is directly in front of Kaufhof
(big green sign on top).
Take Straßenbahn Number 3 in the direction of Sandhofen (that’s what it should
say on the train).
To catch a train that directly connects to
the bus take the train at 16 minutes after
the hour (e.g. 3.16 p.m.) or 46 minutes after the hour (e.g. 3.46 p.m.) from Paradeplatz. The train ride takes about 20 minutes.
Get off at Sandhofen, Endstelle (last stop
of the route, the train turns here and goes
back downtown).
At Sandhofen, Endstelle you change on
to Bus 52 in the direction of Sandhofen
lKEA or Bus 603 in the direction of Lam-
pertheim, Europabrücke, which is usually
already waiting just a few meters away
from where the train stops to take up the
passengers from the train.
The bus ride takes around 6 to 8 minutes.
Get off at lKEA/Scharhof – the stop is in
front of the lKEA store between some
parking lots.
And please keep in mind:
Even though lKEA is open until 9 p.m.
from Mon – Thu and until 10 p.m. Friday
and Saturday, the last bus always runs at
8:30 p.m.!!!
Coming back:
Wait at the stop that you exited the bus at.
Take Bus 52 or Bus 603 with the direction
of Sandhofen
The bus runs every half an hour at .24 and
.54 between 9.00 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. The
bus ride takes about 5 minutes. Get off at
Sandhofen, Endstelle.
Change on to Straßenbahn Number 3 now
going in the direction of Neckarau, Rheingoldhalle. The train ride takes about 20
minutes
to
Paradeplatz.
