Overview of the information exchange environment in the justice and home
affairs area
In the context of the implementation of the Roadmap to enhance information exchange and
information management including interoperability solutions in the Justice and Home Affairs area
(9368/1/16 REV 1) and the ongoing work in the High Level Expert group on information systems
and interoperability, the General Secretariat of the Council has made an attempt to map the existing
(and some future) information exchange instruments, networks and databases in the JHA field.
The sole aim of this map is to try to provide delegations with an overall picture of the information
exchange environment in the context of the ongoing discussions about enhancing information
exchange and ensuring the interoperability of the existing systems.
