The time-honoured MKG Arts and Crafts Fair is hosted by Justus Brinkmann Fördergesellschaft mbH together with
Hamburg’s Arts and Crafts Museum (Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg) and is among the oldest and most wellknown of its kind in Germany.
The Fair regards itself as a forum for current developments in contemporary artistic crafts and design. The spectrum comprises jewellery, textiles, furniture, ceramics, glass, wood and tableware manufactured as unique pieces or in small series.
Applications are open to all artisans and – newly for the 2017 edition – also to galleries with up to a maximum of two artisans represented by them.
Universities can apply for the university platform with a class or a project.
Justus Brinkmann Prize:
The Justus Brinckmann Prize, which comes with an award of €7,500, is given to one artisan at the fair to reward outstanding and innovative achievements.
