The Organizing Authority is the Circolo Vela Torbole in conjunction with the Laser
SB3 Class World Council.
1. RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing.
1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply, except for RRS 91.
1.3 Class Rules will apply.
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2. ADDITIONAL IDENTIFICATION AND ADVERTISING
2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising on its hull and/or sails chosen by the
event organizer in accordance with ISAF Advertising Code. Any required advertising
material will be distributed upon entry confirmation.
2.2 Boats may be required to display bow identification numbers.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to registered boats of the Laser SB3 Class which are in
compliance with the Class Rules.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the online entry form available at the
event web site and sending it, together with the required fee, to Circolo Vela Torbole
by 31 March 2010. Entries will not be confirmed until full payment is received and
the National Association or World Council has confirmed paid membership.
3.3 Late entries may be accepted after the entry closing date only at the discretion of
the Organizing Authority. In case of acceptance an additional late entry fee penalty of
200,00 € may be charged.
3.4 Entry registration will take place on the dates stated on point 6.1 of this Notice of
Race and the following documents will be needed:
a) Identification card with picture for all of the crew members (passport or Driving
Licence will generally be accepted).
b) Copy of the Insurance policy.
c) All skippers must sign that the boat has been check weighed before arriving in Italy
or pay Euros 50 for weighing check in Italy.
4. CLASSIFICATION
No classification requirements will apply under ISAF Regulation 22, Sailor
Classification Code.
5. FEES AND METHOD OF PAYMENT
5.1 The entry fee includes:
- craning in/out;
- berthing;
- trailer parking;
- car parking (one per yacht) in designated areas from the 16th to 24th July;
- Social Events: Opening Ceremony, After Race Happy Hours 19th and 21st, After
Race Pasta/Watermelon Parties 20th and 22nd, Price Giving Dinner/Goodbye Party
23rd; see also point 22 for the Social Events Program included.

Entry fee is 450,00 € per boat.
An extra SB3 World Council major event fee of 30,00 € will be requested by cash at
registration.

Please mark the payment with Laser SB3 Worlds, the name and number of the
boat. All charges relating to transfer of the entry fee shall be paid by the remitter.
5.3 Before 31 May 2010 entry fees can be refunded after deducting 50% for
administration expenses. No fees are refundable after 31 May 2010.
5.4 No resale of entries will be allowed.

6.2 From the second day of racing, the intended time of the first warning signal will be
posted on the official notice board before h. 20:00 the previous day. If no notice is
displayed, starting time will be the same as previous day.

7. MEASUREMENTS
7.1 All boats and equipment shall be presented for measurement by to organising
committee and the official SB3 class measurer or his nominated representative. The
following measurements may be taken:
a) Crew weighing will be carried out according to the Laser SB3 Class Rules. For this
item the full crew shall be presented at the same time.
b) Safety and Equipment checks.
c) Hull Weight and weight adjustors if required.
d) Boats failing to comply with class boat weight measurement rules may be charged

7.2 Random measurements and equipment checks may be made throughout the
Championship at the discretion of the Class Representative, Race Committee or the
International Jury.
8. EQUIPEMENT: CLASS RULE VARIATIONS:
As provided in class rule A.6.2 the mandatory equipment rule C.5.1 shall be altered to
exclude the following items from the list of mandatory items. Members need not
have these items but may sail with them as optional equipment if they wish:
Item 1: Horseshoe lifebuoy attached to stern.
Item 3: Anchor with specified chain.
Item 5. Floating Line attached to the stern
Item 9: Specified flares and watertight bag.
9. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available upon entry registration at the race office.
10. VENUE
The race will be held in the northern side of Lake Garda.
11. THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be windward/leeward with a leeward gate and a spreader
mark.
12. RACING FORMAT
If necessary the fleet will be divided into groups and sail a Qualifying series followed
by the Finals series.
13. SCORING
13.1 The Championship will be scored as provided in RRS Appendix A using the Low
Point System.
13.2 A total of 5 races are required to constitute a championship.
13.3 A qualifier race shall not count until all qualifying fleets have completed that
race.
13.4 The qualifying races and final races shall count for total points in the
championship.
13.5 (a) When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be
the total of her race scores.
(b) When from 4 to 9 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the
total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
(c) When 10 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the
total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
14. SUPPORT BOATS
All the supporters and trainers boats excluding the security boats must get an
accreditation at their arrival. Mechanically propelled boats are generally prohibited on
the northern part of Lake Garda, however, during this event, a special permit to use
such boats may be given producing the following documents to the organising

authority:
- rib’s engine registration document (engine brand name – engine serial numbers);
- rib’s engine insurance;
- driver’s identity document.
They will be given a flag with a number.
All the support boat must keep onboard Permission card and their own
papers possibly ORIGINALS - not copies.
15. PARKING, CRANING, LAUNCHING AND BERTHING PROCEDURES
Parking and cranes will be available from h. 09:00 on Monday 12th July 2010.
The Club will NOT accept any boat or trailer arriving during the two weeks
before that date, as the place will be full for another event. Participants in PreWorlds Italian events (see point 23) intending to leave their boats in the area until the
Worlds shall contact organizing authority.
Boats will be assigned places in the boat park and in the harbour.
Boats may be berthed up to 5 deep on pontoons, so owners are requested to equip
their boats with adequate fenders and warps to safely secure them.
16. HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
All boats shall be afloat before h. 18.00 on Sunday, 18 July and shall not be hauled
out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written
permission of the Race Committee or under the requirement of the Measurers.
Careening, diving with underwater breathing apparatus is not permitted without
similar permission.
17. RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing
nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also
applies to mobile telephones.
18. PRIZES
Prizes will be given to the top three boats of the overall results.
Other prizes may be awarded.
19. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS rule 4,
‘Decision to Race’. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material
damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during,
or after the regatta.
20. INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a
minimum cover of 1.000.000/00 € per event or the equivalent.
21. RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS
The Media Rights belong exclusively to CIRCOLO VELA TORBOLE and LASER SB3
WORLD COUNCIL. By participating in this regatta a competitor automatically grants to
the organizing authority and its sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use and
show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped or

filmed television and other reproductions of him or her during the period of the
competition without compensation.
The participants also undertake not to do or allow any act of reproduction, public
communication or any distribution of images of the race, without previous
authorization from Circolo Vela Torbole.
