AsteraApp™ with AsteraBox™ Quick Start Guide Welcome to the AsteraApp™. This Quick Start Guide tells you how to set up the AsteraApp™ with your AsteraBox™ and how to start controlling Astera lights. Download the AsteraApp™ from Google Play. Install it on your Bluetooth-enabled Android device. Launch the AsteraApp™ and switch on Bluetooth. Then turn on the AsteraBox™. Pair the AsteraApp™ with the AsteraBox™. Then start having fun! Pairing App and Box. To turn the Box on, press and hold the power button for 2 secs. When the indicator LED starts to flash blue, the device is ready for pairing. When the App opens for the first time, it will prompt you to connect to an AsteraBox™ (see next page). Connect Choosing your AsteraBox™. When on the AsteraBox™ Pairing page, you can select your Bluetooth device. The device to choose is AsteraBox™ ### (set as the last three digits of the serial number). example: 123_4567_890 You will then be prompted for a PIN code (see PIN code label on your AsteraBox™). When complete, your Android device (via the AsteraBox™) can control Astera lights. The Basics. The AsteraApp™ interface consists of an action bar and a navigation bar. The action bar allows you to edit and add programs or targets. The navigation bar consists of five pages, which are dynamically linked. Selecting a program and then entering the Editor will mean that the selected program is being edited. Add Edit Connection Targets Programs More Options Brightness Editor Choosing a Program. There are 25 predefined programs on the AsteraApp™ (you can add many more). Press any program to display effects on the targeted lights. Flip through the pages to see all programs. These programs are completely customizable; simply select a program, then go into the Editor to customize, or choose the Brightness page to adjust its Brightness settings. Customizing a Program. While in the Program Editor, you will be able to browse the effect categories, change which effects and colors are being displayed, adjust the speed, the fade, the brightness, the direction of the light flow, and choose to activate the Strobe option. To rename programs, tap the default name and edit. When you’ve finished editing, press Save. Effects Color Tab Save Sub Effects Color Picker. By pressing one of the Color Tabs, the Color Picker will reveal itself, and you will be able to choose any color from the index. Drag the cursor to your desired color. You can also choose popular white color temperatures just below the Color Picker. When you’ve finished editing, press Save. Color Tab Cursor White Color Temperatures Add a Tile. When on the Programs page, pressing the Add button takes you to the Add a Tile page. Here you can add function tiles or programs. Tap-Sync is a function tile for adjusting the BPM of the currently chosen program. To use, double tap the tile to the tempo of the music. Blackout is a function tile toggle switch for setting the lights to 0% or 100% brightness. Add a Tile Targeting a Light. On the Targets page, press the Add button to take you to the Add New Target page. From here, you can target all of a particular light model (i.e. AX3), make groups and sets or target individual lights. Basic Targets. These options are to be used when you wish to make a set. Choose either Sync Set or Flow Set. When on the Sync Set screen, you will notice that all in-range, same-PIN lights start to flash. Simply tap the lights you wish to assign to this set. The same applies to the Flow Set, but you will need to set the number of positions, then confirm each position on the AsteraApp™ before you can tap the next light.
