He graduated in computer science in 2004 at the Kepler University of Linz and earned an MBA degree in applied knowledgemanagementin2007.Duringhisundergraduatestudieshewasawardedthree timeswithgrantsforoutstandingstudyperformancebytheuniversity.Hismasterthesiswas awardedagrantforexcellentAustrianstudentsbytheministerofresearchandeducation.He earnedhisPhDincomputersciencefromthetechnicalUniversityofViennain2010.Histhesis was nominated for the GI Dissertationspreis, an annual award for the best PhD thesis in computerscienceinGerman-speakingcountries,andreceivedtheVÖWA-Wissenschaftspreis forhighpracticalandindustrialrelevanceofaPhDthesis.ThetechnicalresultofhisPhDthesis hasbeenfurtherdevelopedtoacommercialproductandisofferedonthebusinessprocess managementmarketbythepartnercompanyMetasonicGmbHsince2013. Since2010,hehasbeenapostdocandassistantprofessorattheKeplerUniversityofLinzwith researchvisitstotheTechnicalUniversityinDarmstadtandtheRuhr-UniversitätinBochum (Germany). From 2011 to 2015, he has been the principal investigator and coordinating projectmanageroftheFP7PEOPLEIAPPprojectIANESandtheLLLLdVToIprojectFARAW. Hewasscientificallyandadministrativelyresponsibleforbothprojectsfromproposalwriting untilfinalreporting.Asidethis,hehasalsotwotimesorganizedtheinternationalERASMUS intensiveprogrammeSURGEOM,asummerschoolteachingprogrammeonsocio-technical support of organizational work in 2013 and 2014.
