In 2004, he joined the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as The Irene and Dr. Arthur Fishberg Professor of Medicine and Professor of Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics. He served as Vice Chairman for Biomedical Research in the Department of Medicine and became the inaugural Director of The Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine in 2007.
