General Notes
Servo motors are mounted to servo gear units
by means of a motor adapter with a clamp coupling. The connection of coupling and motor
shaft is friction-locked via a clamping hub. Depending on the allocation of motor shaft (M) and
coupling size, the clamping hub is additionally
provided with a slotted clamping sleeve (50).
The coupling operates absolutely free of backlash and does not require any maintenance.
Standard rotational accuracy, axial run-out and
concentricity values to DIN IEC 60072-1 (normal class) for shaft end and mounting flange of
the motor suffices.
Dimensional tolerances: The centering diameter on the motor flange must be produced to tolerance ISO j6, the motor shaft to
ISO k6.
2.
Motor mounting
- For motor shafts with a feather key, remove
the feather key and align the shaft with the
feather key groove as shown in Fig. 3.
- Degrease motor shaft and bore hole of the
coupling hub on the motor side.
- Remove plastic plug from assembly hole (30)
of the adapter housing.
- Align clamping bush, if available, according to
figure 3.
- Place motor onto adapter housing. Ideally
mount the motor in a vertical position to
minimize unfavourable displacement.
Fig 1: Motor adapter ME / ME10–ME50 / MEI / MEL
Important: The motor shaft must be introduced centrically into the clamping hub (40)
or the clamping sleeve (50) (Fig. 3) resp. Do
not introduce canted!
If the motor shaft is not insertable untwist
cheese-head screw (41) approx. a fourth turn
against the pin to widen the hub (Fig. 3).
- Screw motor to adapter housing.
- Tighten clamping screw (41) on clamping
ring. To do this, put the extension piece of
the torque spanner through the assembly
hole (30). Tightening torque MA as per table.
Please tighten the two clamping screws
steadily with PE gear units.
- Reclose assembly hole (30) with plastic plug.
