Anforderungsprofil
A six months student position is available at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Advance Material
Simulations, Ruhr-Universität Bochum starting from January 15th, 2017. The successful
candidate will join an friendly international team working on development of new generation
thermodynamic databases. Such databases are a fundamental part of the materials design in
industrial applications. The main task is an application of a newly proposed physically-based model
down to 0K for description of binary and ternary systems using CALPHAD (CALculation of
PHAase Diagrams) method.
Master or Diploma degree in physics, material science, mechanical engineering, chemical
engineering and applied mathematics; Fluent in written and spoken English; Knowledge and
experience of ab-initio or CALPHAD calculations and computer programming is a great
advantage.
