However, although many books and articles have been devoted to images and legends, hoards, chemical analysis or die links, studies combining all these approaches have seldom been carried out. In this paper, I will present such a global study on a given issue: the fascinating RIC I2 Augustus 273 aurei. This study, about to be published in the Revue Numismatique, is part of a current research program of the IRAMAT-CEB in Orléans (France), the AVREVS program, focusing on the beginning of Roman gold coinage, of which a short presentation will also be given. am Donnerstag, 10.
