Working field: The position is attached to the Collaborative Research Center SFB 910 "Control of self-organizing nonlinear systems: Theoretical methods and concepts of application" in project B4: "Control of flow patterns in complex fluids
on the micron scale". The research focuses on the control of complex fluids using models of viscoelastic and phase-separating liquids in order to shape and engineer their flow. The tasks include the (numeric) solutions of continuum equations as well as developing and applying appropriate control strategies to generate and control novel flow patterns. The
preparation of a PhD thesis is possible.
Requirements: As a successful candidate you should hold a university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics.
Good knowledge in statistical physics of soft matter and in numerical methods is necessary. More information about the
