Every Day German I Every Day German I is a special GWC program for international researchers and postgraduates, who are staying at Goethe University. In small groups you will learn some basic German to get along when doing the groceries, searching for an apartment or doing small talk with colleagues and students. Every Day German II Every Day German II is a special GWC program for international researchers and postgraduates, who are working at Goethe University. Basic language skills will be emphasized so that everyday life inside and outside of the university might become more comfortable. German language command at level A1 (Every Day German I) is a pre-requisite for this course. German Elementary Course A1 The aim of this course for PhDs and Postdocs is the ability of a basic language use that is fundamental for further language learning. German Elementary Course A2 The aim of this course is to bring PhDs and Postdocs, who have finished the A1 beginner level of the Common European Framework of Reference, up to the A2 elementary level. After the course, you will be able to: • Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment) • Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters • Describe in simple terms aspects of your background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need • Use basic grammatical structures: e.g. signals for subordinate clauses, past tense, past perfect Pre-requisite for this course is the successful participation in the A1 level course. Stammtisch C1 Wenn Sie über gute Sprachkenntnisse auf B2-Niveau verfügen, diese aber erweitern möchten, dann ist der „Stammtisch C1“ genau richtig. In vielen alltäglichen Lebenssituationen können Sie sich spontan und flexibel ausdrücken, sie möchten aber Ihre Fähigkeit verbessern, sich klar, strukturiert und zu komplexen und wissenschaftlichen Themen zu äußern. Alle Fertigkeiten, wie Lesen, Hören, Strukturen und Wortschatz werden geübt. Bei Bedarf kann auch die Textproduktion trainiert werden. Im Fokus soll die Kommunikation stehen – Diskussionsrunden, Gruppen- bzw. Partnergespräche und Präsentationen bringen Sie ins Gespräch.
