Ausländer verhindern Straftaten
«Es gibt für uns keine guten und schlechten Zahlen», sagte Marius Widmer, Sprecher des
Bundesamts für Statistik, als dieses vor zwei Wochen die Kriminalstatistik von 2014
veröffentlichte. Die neue Statistik schlüsselt die Nationalitäten der Straftäter auf. Besonders
kriminell: «Südwestafrikaner» und «Westafrikaner». Aus methodischer Sicht, gelinde gesagt,
irreführend, wäre dies eine Statistik ganz nach dem Geschmack Donald Trumps. Nur leider besagt
diese in den USA genau das Gegenteil: Immigranten begehen weniger Straftaten als Einheimische.
Ein Artikel im Time Magazine zeigt, wie mehr Ausländer zudem zu weniger Straftaten führen –
vielleicht auch bald in der Schweiz.

being reshaped. The question that today’s policymakers must answer is whether the post-1945
system of international institutions can be reformed to accommodate Asia’s rise. The deftness
with which policymakers inside and outside of the region are able to manage this structural
transition will fundamentally affect the security of future generations. How would such a new
global order look like, and what can Europe – and Switzerland – do to help establish it?
