CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR YOUNG WOMEN WHO ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE AURORA YOUNG PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR AWARD Aurora Women & Girls Foundation, Inc. is seeking nominations for young women (between the ages of 14 to 18 years old) who are doing great things in their communities – who are “giving back” and making a difference. Whether cleaning up a beach, working in a food pantry, raising funds for a local shelter, teaching a group of kids to dance, we are looking for a young woman who is providing leadership and inspiration to help change her community. Aurora wants to recognize a young woman who has identified a need or issue in her community and has actively addressed the problem. The Aurora Young Philanthropist of the Year Award was created to recognize young women who are leaders in their communities. We are looking for a special young woman who has demonstrated excellence in community activities – raising money, supporting a cause, volunteering – i.e., making a difference in the lives of her family and neighbors and in the Greater Hartford region. The honoree will be recognized as the Aurora’s 2014 Young Philanthropist of the Year at our annual breakfast on October 15, 2014. She will have an opportunity to share her experiences with breakfast attendees and she will receive a monetary award. A simple nomination form is required and due by May 1, 2014. Eligibility and Nomination Process: A young woman between 14 to 18 years old from the Greater Hartford area who is active in her community. A nomination letter should detail how the nominee has demonstrated leadership and excellence in community activities – raising money, supporting a cause, and/or volunteering. The award process is open to anyone who wishes to submit the nomination form and provide the required information. Self-nominations are accepted.
