Wilko Weichert, MD, is the Director of
the Institute of Pathology of the Technical
University in Munich. He is also member
of the board of the German Society of
Pathology. Dr. Weichert is pathologist
by training and a dedicated molecular
pathologist with a specific focus on molecular
biomarker translation into clinical diagnostics.
With this research focus, he centrally
contributes molecular diagnostics expertise
to several large research consortia such as
the German Cancer Consortium. On the other
side of the spectrum, he is also involved
into regulatory and health insurance issues
in the implementation of novel diagnostic
algorithms into real world patient care.

Jeroen Krijgsveld is a professor of
Proteomics at Heidelberg University and
heads the Division 'Proteomics of stem cells
and cancer' at DKFZ. He did post-doctoral
work at Harvard Medical School, was an
assistant professor at Utrecht University,
and a Team Leader at EMBL from 2008-2015.
His research focuses on the development
of quantitative proteomic methodologies
to study the expression, interaction and
secretion of proteins at a global scale. In
particular, his interest is to investigate how
the proteome is dynamically regulated
in time and space, and to understand
processes that are fundamental to cancer
biology and to pluripotency in stem cells.
Klaus Pantel is Chairman of the Institute of
Tumour Biology at the University Medical
Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and Member
of the Executive Board of Directors of the
University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCCH).
The pioneer work of Prof. Pantel in the
field of cancer micrometastasis, circulating
tumor cells and circulating nucleic acids
(ctDNA, microRNAs) is reflected by > 400
publications (incl. NEJM, Lancet, Nature
Journals, Cancer Cell, Science Translational
Medicine, Cancer Discovery, PNAS, JCO,
JNCI, Cancer Res.) and has been awarded
the AACR Outstanding Investigator Award
for Breast Cancer Research 2010, German
Cancer Award 2010, and ERC Advanced
Investigator Grant 2011.
