During the meeting, the President ICMA Pakistan emphasized upon granting rights of audit to Management Accountants for Private Limited Companies under Section 254 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984, as well as audit rights under the proposed Foreign Contribution Act, 2014. The Chairman SECP assured to consider these suggestions put forward by the President - ICMA Pakistan. ICMAP Officials’ Meeting Estd. 1951 ICMA Pakistan Mr. Zia ul Mustafa, President and Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Qazi, Vice President, ICMA Pakistan held a meeting with Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on 30th April 2014 at the FBR’s office in Islamabad. During the meeting, matters relating to appointment of Management Accountants as Accountant Member in Income Tax Appellate Tribunal of the FBR; and appointment of Management Accountants as Member of the Tax Advisory Council of the FBR came under discussion. The Chairman Meetings of the Institute FBR assured to consider favorably the suggestions made by the ICMA Students Career Development Week at Karachi Pakistan. Inside Webinar on "Revision of International Education Standards” The Institute organized a Webinar on "The Revision of International Education Standards" on 24th April, 2014. Dr. Peter Wolnizer, Chair, International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB), shared his knowledge and experience on the topic. ICMA Pakistan Newsletter 3 April 2014 B ra n c h Ev e n t s & N e w s Karachi Branch Council Workshops on 'Direct Connect Mentoring Session’ (From L to R: Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Bawany, FCMA, Mr. Irfan Amanullah, FCMA, and Mr. Muhammad Lukman, FCMA) Karachi Branch Council organized three separate sessions on "Direct Connect Mentoring" with Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Bawany, FCMA, MD & Country Head Linde Pakistan Ltd (also former President ICMA Pakistan) on 17th April 2014; Mr. Irfan Amanullah, FCMA, General Manager Attock Cement Pakistan Ltd on 22nd April 2014; and Mr. Muhammad Lukman, FCMA, CEO, National Clearing Company of Pakistan Ltd on 14th April 2014, respectively. The objective of these Sessions was to provide a platform for interaction with corporate and successful leaders of corporate world and to appraise participants about industry's requirements and how they could develop themselves in today's competitive environment. The speakers highlighted the importance of personal development and role of mentors in today's competitive environment and also shared the industry examples and gave tips to the participants for success. Tree Plantation Drive The National Council of ICMA Pakistan, on the request of Islamabad Branch Council, has sanctioned a sum of PKR. 300,000/- to take initiatives of Tree Plantation Drive (TPD) under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy. TPD was organized by the Islamabad Branch Council (IBC) on 23rd April 2014 to raise awareness about preservation and protection of the environment.
