When ferroelectrics receive infrared and absorbs the thermal energy, a change occurs in its spontaneous
polarization, and electrical charge will be excited on its surface in proportion to the amount of change.
This is called Pyroelectric Effect.
Pyroelectric infrared sensor sharply detects infrared emitted by human body etc., using pyroelectric effect of
ferroelectric ceramics.
