富士山七合目公衆トイレの仕組み
About the Public Toilets at the 7th Station of Mt. Fuji
富士山の環境への悪影響をできる限り減らすため、微生物で
し尿を分解する仕組みのトイレ
［バイオトイレ
（菌床にそば殻）］
にしています。
効率のよい処理をするため、特殊な便器
（セパレート便器）
を使
用して過剰な水分
（尿）
を自動で尿タンクへ分離しています。
このトイレを維持するために1シーズン
（約2ヶ月）
で約１千万円
の維持費がかかります。
富士山の環境をいつまでも守るために 200円の協力金を
お願いします。
• In order to minimize as much as possible any adverse impact on the environment of Mt.
Fuji, bio-toilets have been installed which decompose urine through microorganisms
(buckwheat husk is used as the substrate for culturing the bacteria).
• To ensure the efficiency of the process, a specially designed separate lavatory basin is
used, which enables the automatic separation of excess liquid (urine) into a urine tank.
• The maintenance cost for this toilet runs at ¥10 million per one season (about two months).
• Users are kindly requested to pay a fee of ¥200 to help protect the environment of Mt. Fuji
by maintaining this public toilet facility.
