We are looking for a highly motivated candidate for a medical PhD student position available in
the Institute for Cardiovascular Physiology and the Heimer-Institute for Muscle Research,
Department of Neurology at the BG-University Hospital, Medical Faculty of the Ruhr-University
Bochum, Germany.

The position is funded by the Deutsche Duchenne Stiftung for 1 year (extension possible) with the
aim to better understand the function and regulation of heat shock proteins-proteins in skeletal
muscle diseases, esp. the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The project involve the use of a
wide range of methods and technologies from the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry and
cell biology.
Anforderungsprofil
We offer a vacancy for a bright, enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate who finished his/her
medical studies and seeks a phD position (Dr.med.). Fundamental knowledge in
immunocytochemistry and histology is essential. Understanding of muscle physiology and
standard lab biochemistry will be desirable.
