ISO/PC 283 Chairman’s report
Options on disapproval of a DIS
● Prepare a second DIS (DIS 2)
● Publish the draft as a Technical Specification (TS)
● Back stage to Committee Draft
● Note ISO/DIS 45001 achieved 71% P-member approval, following
approval of the CD2.
● Going back a stage is therefore not a viable option.
● 71% exceeds the 66% P-member approval needed to publish as a
TS.
● Noting the volume of comments and the issues raised, the
Secretariat recommends preparing a DIS 2.

Next steps
We will also need to decide if we wish to hold an FDIS stage,
and the pros and cons of doing so (probably at the next
meeting.
Note: ISO’s default position is now not to hold an FDIS
We were pleased to note the results of the ballot on the DIS,
which showed a 71% in favour but failed to secure the
necessary votes for moving forward to FDIS.
