Die Basis unseres Erfolgs
The basis of our success
Den für die Herstellung unserer gärtnerischen Erden verwendeten Hochmoortorf bauen wir auf eigenen Moorflächen in Deutschland und im Baltikum ab. Diesem
Grundstoff mischen wir anschließend unseren hochwertigen Vulkanton bei, den wir im hessischen Vogelbergkreis
gewinnen. So entstehen erstklassige Kultursubstrate mit
hohem Porenvolumen und verbesserten physikalischen
Eigenschaften, die exakt auf die Bedürfnisse der zu kultivierenden Pflanzen zugeschnitten sind.
The peat used for the production of our gardening soils
is taken from our own moor areas in Germany and the
Baltic States. We then mix this base material with our high
quality volcanic clay, which is extracted in our own clay
deposit in the Hessian Vogelsberg region. This results in
a first class cultivation substrate with a high volume of
pores and improved physical properties that are precisely tailored to meet the requirements of the growing
plants.
Nach dem Torfabbau überlassen wir die Natur keinesfalls
sich selbst. Alle abgetragenen Moorflächen werden zunächst hinsichtlich der Flora und Fauna untersucht und
anschließend aufwändig renaturiert: Entwässerungen werden rückgängig gemacht und unerwünschte Entwicklungen
wie das Zuwachsen und Verbuschen wertvoller OffenlandLebensräume durch geeignete Maßnahmen unterbunden.
After removing the peat, we do not leave the area to face
the elements alone. All extracted moor areas are initially
examined with respect to the flora and fauna and are
then extensively renatured: drainage facilities are removed and unwanted developments such as the growth and
overgrowing of valuable open habitats is prevented with
suitable measures.

Durch die Veredelung von hochwertigstem Torf mit Zuschlagstoffen wie beispielsweise Vulkanton, Perliten und
Holz- oder Kokosfasern entstehen die bekannten Substrate und Erden der Marken Fruhstorfer, Hawita Flor und
Hawita Baltic – allesamt optimal auf den jeweiligen Pflanzenbedarf, die Kulturtechnik und den betriebsspezifischen
Einsatzbereich im modernen Gartenbau abgestimmt.
The refinement of high quality peat with additives such as
volcanic clay, perlites and wood or coconut fibres allows
us to create the well-known substrates and potting soils
under the brand names Fruhstorfer, Hawita Flor and Hawita Baltic – all of which are optimally aligned to the respective plant requirements, cultivation techniques and
the specific area of use in modern horticulture.
Neue Kulturverfahren verlangen angepasste Eigenschaften der Substrate. Diesen hohen Anspruch unserer Kunden erfüllen wir durch stetige Weiterentwicklung
sämtlicher Produktlinien. Alle Roh- und Zuschlagstoffe
unterliegen dabei der ständigen Qualitätskontrolle und
durchlaufen umfangreiche Tests. Erst danach werden sie
für die Produktion der Blumenerden und Kultursubstrate
eingesetzt und fördern anschließend das gesunde und optimale Wachstum der Pflanzen.
New cultivation processes demand customized substrate
properties. We meet the high demands of our customers
with the continuous further development of all product
lines. All raw materials and additives are subjected to
permanent quality controls and go through extensive
tests. After this process, they are used for the production
of potting soil and cultivation substrates and promote
the healthy and optimal growth of plants.

Unter dem Label »Easypot« vertreiben wir gebrauchsfertige Vliestöpfe als Vermehrungssystem für Zierpflanzen, Gehölze und Stauden. Ausgehend von unserem
Standort in Künzelsau liefern wir jährlich über 200 Mio.
Easypots an Gärtnereien in ganz Europa.
Under the »Easypot« label, we sell ready-to-use paper
pots as a reproduction system for ornamental plants,
shrubs and perennials. Originating from our site in Künzelsau, we supply more than 200 million Easypots to
greenhouses throughout Europe each year.
Easypot zeichnet sich durch eine schnelle Durchwurzelung
und eine problemlose Weiterverarbeitung auch bei maschinellem Topfen aus. Durch eine eigens dafür entwickelte
hochwertige Substratmischung wird eine Kulturzeitverkürzung erreicht, die Easypot zusammen mit der Arbeitszeitersparnis zu einem der rationellsten und effektivsten
Vermehrungssysteme im Gartenbau macht.
Easypot is characterized by fast root penetration and
problem-free further processing; including for machine
pots. With our own specially developed substrate mixture, the cultivation period is reduced which, together
with less processing time, makes the Easypot one of the
most efficient and effective reproduction systems in horticulture.
Die Vliestöpfe werden in unterschiedlichen Größen von 2
bis 6 cm in 16 verschiedenen Trays angeboten. Innerhalb
Deutschlands können die gebrauchten Trays im Rahmen
eines Mehrwegsystems umweltfreundlich wiederverwertet werden.
The fabric pots are offered in different sizes from 2 to 6
cm in 16 different trays. Within Germany, the used trays
can be recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner
within the scope of a reutilisation system.

Our subsidiary »technoplant«, founded in the year
1990, is now a leading manufacturer of plastic plant containers. In the Northern German town of Emstek, we develop and produce high quality plant containers for
professional and amateur gardening, as well as for DIY
and self-service fields; from the initial concept and development of the tools through to the use of state-of-theart injection moulding machines.

Qualität ist unser Kapital. Deshalb werden alle Produktionsabläufe permanent überwacht und durch Fremd- und
Eigenprobenentnahmen kontrolliert. Im Hawita-Zentrallabor in Lauterbach analysieren qualifizierte Fachkräfte mit
modernstem technischen Equipment die eingesetzten Rohund Zuschlagstoffe, die fertigen Mischungen und sogar
Proben aus der Kultur sowie das Gießwasser der Kunden.
Quality is our asset. This is why all production processes
are permanently monitored and backed up with external
and internal testing. In the central Hawita laboratory in
Lauterbach, qualified specialists use the latest technical
equipment to analyze the raw materials and additives,
the finished mixtures, and even cultivation samples as
well as the customer’s water.
Über 10.000 Proben kommen so im Jahr zusammen, die
als Rückstellproben nach der Untersuchung für zwei
Jahre im eigenen Probenraum gelagert werden.
This results in a collection of more than 10,000 samples
per year which are stored for two years after the examination in our own test room as reference samples.
Ergebnis dieser umfangreichen Bemühungen ist unsere
konstant hohe Qualität und nicht zuletzt die Zuerkennung
des RAL-Gütezeichens für unsere Erden und Substrate.
The result of these extensive efforts is our constantly
high quality and, not least, the award of the RAL quality
seal for our soils and substrates.

Around the world
Die Vita Logistik ist unsere hauseigene Spedition, die
die kompletten Warenströme der Hawita Gruppe disponiert. Zusätzlich versorgt sie auch externe Kunden mit
optimierten logistischen Gesamtlösungen.
Vita Logistics is our own freight forwarding service
which completely arranges the Hawita Group‘s flow of
goods. It also provides external customers with complete
optimized logistics solutions.
Dabei bedient sich die Vita Logistik aller Verkehrsträger,
wobei stets ökonomische, ökologische sowie terminliche
Gesichtspunkte beachtet werden. So kommt im klassischen
Landverkehr der LKW oder die Bahn zum Einsatz, wobei
hier eine Reihe von Speziallösungen angeboten werden.
Transporte mit Selbstentladung, zum Beispiel per Mitnahmestapler, gehören ebenso dazu wie Schüttguttransporte
mit Schubbodenaufliegern und Schubbodengliederzügen.
Vita Logistic serves all modes of transport, whereby
economical, ecological and scheduling points are always
considered. Classic domestic transport by lorry or rail is
used, for which a range of special solutions is on offer.
Transport with self-discharge such as transportable
forklifts is deployed, as well as bulk material transport
with sliding-floor trailers and sliding-floor articulated
trains.
Hinzu kommt der kombinierte Verkehr aus Straße und
Schiene. Außerdem werden auf dem Seeweg sowohl Containerschiffe als auch Bulkschiffe eingesetzt.
Combined transportation by road and rail is also used,
while container ships and freight ships are deployed for
transport by sea.

Natürlicher als zuvor
More natural than before
Die Schätze der Natur sind nur geborgt. Deswegen geht
der Einsatz der Hawita Gruppe bei der Renaturierung abgetorfter Flächen weit über das gesetzlich geforderte Maß
hinaus. Wir arbeiten eng mit den zuständigen Behörden und
Naturschützern zusammen und ebnen die Gebiete beispielsweise nicht komplett ein. Die so entstehenden Unebenheiten sorgen für unterschiedlich hohe Wasserstände, die
verschiedensten Wiesenvögeln eine neue Heimat geben.
Natural treasures are merely borrowed. Therefore, Hawita
Group’s investment in regenerating peated areas extends
far beyond the legal requirements. We work together closely with responsible authorities and environmental groups
and we do not entirely level out the areas, for instance. The
bumps that are created by doing this ensure differing water
levels that provide a new home to a wide variety of meadow
birds.
Durch die behutsame Landschaftspflege werden die von
uns bewirtschafteten Areale aus Naturschutzsicht sogar
deutlich wertvoller als vorher. Denn die zuvor landwirtschaftlich genutzten Flächen entwickeln sich durch die
Wiedervernässung zu einem wichtigem Ersatzlebensraum
für Fauna und Flora. Intakte Moore werden in Deutschland
ohnehin nicht angetastet. Denn diese stehen unter Naturschutz.
Through cautious rural conservation, the areas cultivated
by us are, from a conservation point of view, even more
valuable than before. This is because, through rewetting,
the areas that were previously used for agriculture develop into important substitute habitats for flora and fauna.
Intact moors are not used in Germany anyway as these are
protected.
