EARTHCHECK RESEARCH INSTITUTE PROJECTS:
Risk and Crisis Management
The ERI developed a user-friendly interactive Risk App to assist businesses to prepare prior,
during, and immediately after a crisis. The Risk App is built on knowledge drawn from over 10
years of experience in crisis and disaster management.
White Papers: Tourism and Water
The ERI has two White Papers on Tourism and Water which were released to coincide with the
UN World Water Day. The second paper, entitled ‘From Challenges to Solutions – Providing
the Business Case’, provides the tourism industry with evidence based data on water stress and
scarcity in the Asia Pacific (AP) region.
Building, Planning and Design Standards
In 2014, the ERI released an update of the EarthCheck Building Planning and Design
Standard (BPDS). The BPDS is now being applied to multiple resort precincts across China,
the Middle East and South East Asia. The research compliments further work to update and
refresh the current community and precinct planning standards, which have been in the
market for the past 10 years.
Responsible Meetings
In April 2014, the ERI released a Responsible Meetings and Events Tool Kit to help organisations
cut through the rigorous ISO2021 standards for Sustainable Events Management and help prepare
compliance reports on waste management, energy efficiency, ecosystem conservation, and
management of water resources.
Training and Capacity Building
The ERI is working with the Singapore Book Council to expand the use of the Sustainability
Challenge program in schools in Singapore.
EarthCheck Graduate supports students by providing access to EarthCheck’s global
benchmarking and certification platform.
Urban Trellis™
Urban Trellis™ provides a strategic platform for connecting, growing and delivering sustainability
and place management stories and initiatives across a destination or precinct.
